Graveyard Keeper 2 Herbert
Herbert is the Head of the Guards. He starts at the Crossroads. After you show him your first Burial Certificate, he opens his own quest line. Later he moves to the Barracks; after he retires, Agatha's house at the Crossroads. Reputation: 100 in all (90 without the dark path).
After the retreat he sends you to the abandoned Inquisitor base to bury the dead and bring burial certificates. Every step toward the first zombie battle goes through him. After that battle he runs defence from the Barracks.
Quests: Certificate, Please (show a Burial Certificate; keep it; opens the village; donkey deliveries; +10 town quality; +10 reputation). Grave Expectations (graveyard quality 10; +10 reputation). Fighting Spirit Required (hand 3 Faith from backpack; 2 Town Gratitude and a Story; Barracks door). Swords and Bell (Barracks quality 12 and a Magic bell: 1 Blood + 1 Bronze Ingot at an anvil after Jack’s boat). First… Sludge? (red banner, 2 Healing Potions; battle). First battle needs defence 12; sword or bow on the hotbar. Mercenaries 5 silver first battle; paid four add 8 quality; barricades add 2 each.

When does Herbert move to the Barracks?
After Certificate, Please and the later defence quests, the first battle starts with Herbert at the Barracks after Swords and Bell.
Do I need an iron sword for the first battle?
Iron armor and an iron sword are enough; human mercenaries are enough; gear does not need to be very high. Start stays disabled with no sword or bow on the hotbar; the first battle needs 12 defence.
Is Herbert only available on certain days?
He is there all week; only specific events and tasks are affected by day. The first battle can be retried on any day.
